I'm Heather, the artist behind Oak & Fable Photography.

I'm drawn to beautiful moments when someone relaxes and feels like the best version of themselves. Those honest expressions capture the heart of a well-told story.

I believe everyone who sits with me for a session deserves to be represented well. Guiding you to look like yourself in front of the camera is what I want for every client who comes to me.

I love the way black and white paints emotion onto an image, so the feeling of your baby girl looking up at you with all that wonder gets to be remembered. Black and white does a lovely job of doing that feeling justice and preserving the heart behind what makes these everyday moments so special right now.

How does the artist's gift work?

Selected participants receive the portrait session and one finished 8×10 fine-art portrait as Heather's gift. Oak & Fable receives new black-and-white portfolio work.

Because we set aside dedicated studio time for every participant, a $50 non-refundable studio reservation secures the appointment. Your full $50 is credited toward anything you choose to order from your portraits. If you choose only your gifted portrait, nothing further is due.

What does the $50 reservation mean?

If selected, the reservation secures your date on the studio calendar. The full amount is credited toward any additional artwork you choose after viewing your portraits.

Who is this project for?

Families, couples and individuals who feel connected to honest, artful black-and-white portraiture. You may come on your own or include the people who matter most to you.

When will I hear back?

Applications are personally reviewed. Selected participants will hear from Oak & Fable within 48 hours, and applications close September 16, 2026.
